Malupu is a decent suspense thriller starring Adhi Pinisetty and Nikki Galrani. This is a tamil dubbed film, directed by Sathya Prabhas Pinisetty, and has hit the screens today. Let’s review it.
The film is all about Saga (Aadi) and his three friends who get clashed with a girl named Priya (Richa) and her boyfriend on the new year’s evening 2014. Everything goes smooth in their life but suddenly all these 3 guys get threatening calls from a Mumbai based don(Mithun Chakravarthy) and his gang. Saga decides to visit Mumbai and apologize to don on behalf of his friends. After landing in Mumbai, Saga will come to know that the don is actually looking for him with a strong reason. Who is the don? What is his connection with Priya? Why he is after Saga? How Saga will come out of this situation? Watch the film on big screen to get answers for all these questions.
Aadi delivers outstanding performance, and he is impressive in action sequences but failed to manage in comedy timing. He is not comfortable in doing such sequences. Nikki Galrani has limited screen presence and she has nothing much to perform, and her role gets even more insignificant in the second half. Mithun Chakravarthy is amazing and he adds weight to the film, but his role could have been crafted even better. His expressions are highlight but he failed to deliver impressive lines. The actors who played as friends has limited role and their dialogues weren’t penned well.
The production values of the film are rich. Editing is decent. Camera work by Shanmuga Sundaram is impressive and showcases different moods of the film in the best possible way. The way he has shot the suspense elements is simply superb. Dialogues are okay in the film. Now coming to the director, he has done an okay job as a debutant. The suspense scenes are handled intelligently in the second half and the narration is impressive.
